It was here, La Vang Shrine that Our Lady of La Vang appeared to Vietnamese Catholics who were taking refuge during a time of great persecution, illness, and hunger. She comforted them and advised the use of the local “La Vang” fern leaves for healing, assuring them of her maternal care and prayers.
Today, Our Lady of La Vang is the patroness of Vietnam, and her shrine in La Vang attracts millions of devotees each year.
